Product Description
DOW CORNING HM-2520 Assembly Sealant is a one-part hot-melt silicone assembly sealant that develops immediate handling strength after application and then moisture cures. Typical processing properties include a 15-minute open time, 24-hour pot life, approximately 1100 poise viscosity at 120 deg C, and 98.5% nonvolatile content. In the cured state, typical tensile strength is 700 psi with 1000% elongation, and the service-temperature range is approximately -45 to 150 deg C. The material is used for assembly sealing and bonding where hot-melt application and subsequent moisture cure are required.
Key features
- Immediate Handling Strength: Hot-melt application provides handling strength before the subsequent moisture cure.
- 15-Minute Open Time: Pot life is also listed at 24 hours.
- 1000% Cured Elongation: Typical cured tensile strength is 700 psi.
Applications
Assembly sealing and bonding where hot-melt application provides immediate handling strength followed by moisture cure.
