- Reduced Metal-on-Metal Friction
- Batch-to-Extrusion Process Coverage
Product Description
BONDERITE M-ZN 181 X is a zinc-phosphate conversion-coating series for steel before cold-forming and drawing operations. It forms a nonmetallic phosphate layer that retains lubricant and reduces metal-on-metal friction during forming. The series is supplied as separate Make-Up and Replenisher grades rather than as a kit. Process configurations cover batch, strand, tubing, and extrusion operations, with bath preparation and control values assigned by process. Applications include wire drawing and other steel cold-forming operations where lubricant retention and smoother surface formation are important.
Key features
- Cold-forming phosphate layer: Retains lubricant on steel during forming and drawing.
- Separate MU and R grades: Make-Up and Replenisher are supplied as distinct process grades.
- Process-specific bath control: Supports batch, strand, tubing, and extrusion configurations.
Applications
Applications include zinc-phosphate treatment of steel before batch, strand, tubing, extrusion, wire-drawing, and other cold-forming operations.
